The Bridge is a not-for-profit providing support for people with disabilities and people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Bridge was vacating their tenancy and moving to new offices. Affordable Defits was contracted to defit their Noble Park tenancy and prepare it for new tenants.
The project included removing all internal walls and doors, and joinery. Hand and kick rails were removed from the toilets and the walls patched and painted. A large operable wall was removed and repairs completed to the ceiling above. New carpet tiles were laid to part of the floor and painting completed throughout.
Affordable Defits always attempts to keep removed materials out of landfill by recycling and repurposing as much as possible. The large operable wall removed from the Noble Park office was repurposed for the tenant in their new premises. Glass can be recycled into road base material, new bottles and fibreglass insulation. A large area of glass removed from the project was taken to a glass recycling and manufacturing company for new life.
