What does defit mean?

Defit is the process of either partially or fully stripping out the current fitout in your premise. A defit can include:

What does stripout mean?

Strip outs involve removing any existing fit out in order to hand it over in the same condition as when you moved in. After the strip out, there may be make-good works required to the tenancy so that it is ready for their new tenant. We can provide the following strip out services
  • Demolition permits
  • Project timelines and scope of works
  • Removal of walls and doors
  • Floor covering removal
  • Removal of plaster ceilings and ceiling grids
  • Removal of shop fittings, joinery, fixtures and fittings
  • Signage removal including frosting
  • Concrete levelling, grinding and polishing
  • Disconnection and removal of electrical and lighting services
  • Decommissioning and removal of fire, mechanical and hydraulic services

  • Site clean

What does 'make good' mean?

'Make good' is a term to describe returning a premise to its original state, for the sake of re-leasing or re-fitting.

Our Make good service includes:
  • Flooring make good
  • Patch and painting
  • Signage and decal removal
  • Site clean

What are the steps of a defit process?

We have a five-step defit process:
  1. Make Contact: Call us or send us an email
  2. Discuss Details: Tell our project manager your defit requirements
  3. On-site Visit: We arrange a meeting to do a measure up and gather further information
  4. Provide Quote: Get an itemised quote for your defit project
  5. Start Working: Starting the defit project once everything is approved

How much does a defit cost?

The cost of the defit will vary depending on the size and requirements of the project. All of our quotes are fully itemised and transparent so you can see exactly where the costs are being allocated to.

Can I get an estimate of my defit costs?

When can my defit project start?

Once all previous steps have been taken care of, most defit projects can start within 7 to 14 days.

How long do defit projects take?

It all depends on the size and specifications of the project. That being said, we pride ourselves in providing a fast turnaround compliant to deadlines and demands as per lease agreement. In fact, we recently turned around a 1500m2 full gym demolition in under 2 weeks!
