Affordable Defits was given the task of demolishing a former gym site of 1800m2 in Sunshine, restoring it back to an empty shell. This massive defit project needed to be completed within 2 weeks and required an enormous amount of labour, resources, bins and coordination to meet this tight timeline.

Where possible when doing defits, we look into recycling and reusing as many materials as possible. All metal was recycled and joinery was repurposed or resold.

Works included:

• All flooring removed
• Electrical and lighting disconnects
• Switchboard removal
• Demolition of all ceilings, walls and doors
• Removal of amenities and hydraulic cap off
• Decommissioning and removal of ductwork
• Make good perimeter wall and
• Floor grinding

The end result was an empty space, all ready for a new tenant to move into. The client was super happy with the end result and that we met the strict deadline.
